This Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) from HDC-German Knowledge Sprachzentrum Talisay City and ÖSD Examination Center contains the most commonly asked questions about about our courses and examinations.
Q: What do I need exam A1 for?
A: You need it for visa application (fiancé visa and family reunion) at the German Embassy Manila
Q: When and where can I take exams?
A: You can take the exams here in Talisay City at the HDC-German Knowledge Sprachzentrum as well as in Manila
Q: Is there a minimum age requirement?
A: Yes. You should at least be 14 years old in order to take the exam
Q: Where can I get free training materials?
A: You can download a sample exam at: https://www.osd.at/oesd-pruefungen/
Q: How many hours of German lessons do I need before I can take the A1 exam?
A: We advise our students to enroll in the German A1 Course first before taking the exam. This course is equivalent to to ~107 units or ~80 hours
Q: If I don't pass, can I take the exam again?
A: Yes, but you have to register and pay the examination fee again
Q: How will I get my certificate?
A: We will send the certificate and/or exam result by LBC to your address within the Philippines
Q: What should I do in case I lose my certificate?
A: Please get in touch with the registrar, HDC-German Knowledge Sprachzentrum in Talisay City. A duplicate certificate costs € 15.00 plus shipping costs for LBC (Wien to Talisay City)
Q: Can I study or work in Germany with this certificate?
A: The A1 certificate is unfortunately not enough for acceptance in a German university or for work. You need a higher educated Level for Studying (A2, B1 and B2)
